National Minority AIDS Education & Training Center (NMAETC)

 Funding Agency:

Health Resources Services Agency (HRSA)

 Collaborators:

Howard University

 Summary:

The purpose of the National Minority AETC is to build capacity for HIV care and training among minority health care professionals and health care professionals serving communities of color. This is achieved through a collaborative network of Historically Black Colleges and Universities, Hispanic Serving Institutions, Tribal Colleges and their affiliates, Community Based Organizations, national organizations that represent minority health care professionals, and the regional AIDS Education and Training Centers. The NMAETC uses qualitative and quantitative evaluation protocols designed to generate descriptive and inferential information about the effectiveness of the NMAETC program. Theory-based evaluation activities incorporate strategies that focus on the generation of research findings to describe relationships between NMAETC activities and targeted providers' capacity to treat and care for HIV-infected minority populations.
